I accidentally made my broadband connection into a LAN connection. How to reverse?
I tried to set up a LAN between two computers using the Microsoft wizard Create new LAN connection , but later found out I had the wrong cable. So, having scrapped the LAN idea, I plugged my broadband back into the ethernet slot, only to find the computer thought it is a LAN connection. It shows up as connected, and even shows me the received and sent packages, but I can't connect to the internet anymore. How do I transform the LAN connection back into a broadband one?And yes, I have tried deleting it but the button is greyed out, and when I try to create a new internet connection it tells me, most unhelpfully, that my computer should now be connected, but no connection icon appears. My broadband doesn't require a username and password to connect by the way.Help, please?
Building offering broadband over power, smells fishy.?
They're introducing a " new service" saying that they've invested in a " new technology" which will provide broadband internet with 20 Mbps upload and download via power lines. I'm familiar with the concept of BPL in general, but the fact that I can't find anything on the company providing the underlying service NewConnect LLC and the price makes me think that it's one of those " too good to be true" things. Anybody have any idea what the catch might be? I'm wondering in particular if this is going to send my electric bill through the roof.The device is neither purchased nor leased. Only have to put down a $50 refundable deposit on it.
Mobile broadband ,using sim card from my mobile phone?
just wondering if i could use my sim card which gives me web access all day for 30p and put it in my usb dongle from virgin to get on the internet.i am going on holiday for 2 weeks and the allowance is only 1 gig per month which im sure the kids will use up in the first day.if i go over my allowance i will be charged 15 per gig so i was thinking of using my sim card which would only be 3 for 10 days.would this work?
Problem with Internet Connection using Orange mobile broadband in Ubuntu 8.10?
Hi all I am stuck with few problems with my Ubuntu OS but very frustrating problems.....1. My first problem is that I can't install the Orange Mobile Broadband on Ubuntu 8.10, subsequently I can't connect to the internet which is very frustrating.......I just use Mobile Broadband for connecting to the internet........The Orange Mobile Broadband works totally fine in my Vista OS.......Both the OS, Ubuntu and Vista are installed in the same laptop.....2. I am new to Linux.....But I know there is a way of connecting to the desktop or maybe the files located in the Vista OS.........But I am not sure how its done.......Both the OS, Ubuntu and Vista are installed in the same laptop..........3. I am a Web Developer........I would like to develop Web Applications using PHP & MySQL on Ubuntu 8.10..........I heard that Linux is the best OS to develop Web Applications.......I am currently developing Web Applications using WAMP on Windows OS........How can I set up LAMP on Ubuntu.......Can you please, please help me out with the above three problems, I really want to get started with this Ubuntu thing........it is really eating my head....THANKS AGAIN
Bsnl broadband pbm..have 500 home plan..what to knw how to calculate the charge?
i have bsnl broadband connection with 500homeplan 2.5gb but if usage exceeding 2.5gb..how the extra cahrge is calculation..how we can calculate how much be the bill amount?in 250 ..we are calculating..byt..total usage kb 1024 1024 .90 total charge

just got rid of virgin media, got a bt line for the free 0845 calling and virgin are just to expensive now. wanted to get a good bb provider, found be broadband they look good but on the site it says it can take 4 weeks for line connection to be i don't want to wait a month anyone with be know how long it takes?
What could be wrong with my 3 mobile broadband?
I've had a 3 mobile broadband dongle since last year and its always worked fine. Yesterday when I was on it it kept disconnecting me though and now it wont find a network at all, and my laptop says its not recognising picking up the USB.Has anyone else had this? Do I need to buy a new one? Am using someone elses computer at the moment

Wireless Broadband Router Info?
im planning to buy a wireless broadband router so i could go on the internet on my wii and dsi. but i still need some info on it. First do i have to turn on my computer and go on the internet there in order to use the router? Second i have dial up i know, sucks does it matter? and will the internet on my wii and dsi go as fast? Please help and Thanks for those who do DEverytime i go on the internet on my computer, i have to pay just alittle bit sucks . Will i have to pay when i go on the internet on my wii or dsi?
Mobile Broadband - what is 1 mb?
I just bought a pay as you go mobile broadband for my friend. It charges you per mb if you use in EU. What does 1 mb mean? The shop assistant says if you surf on website like facebook, it will use more mb. So, how can I know how much I spend if I go online? If I just check email and make replies. How long will 1 mb last?
